Hemus motorway

The whole route of the Hemus highway can be completed by 2025, says Minister of Regional Development and Public Works  Nikolay Nankov.

The route of Hemus highway is part of the European road network from the connection with Corridor IV to the west to Corridor IX near Veliko Tarnovo.

Reducing the number of road deaths, as well as good practices for improving road safety, are the focus of the international conference where our country hosts. The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov will open a conference on road safety and good world and European practices.

Daily repair works on state roads are being carried out to improve the state of the road network, inform the API press center.
With a cold asphalt mixture today sections of Trakia Motorway were repaired, on the territory of the districts of Sofia and Plovdiv, of the Hemus Motorway in the Sofia region, the I-1 road in Vratsa district and others.

By March 20, the real construction of the new section of the Hemus highway from Yablanitsa to the Boaza junction will begin. This was announced by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov to the Bulgarian National Radio.

The Hemus Motorway is temporarily closed in the section from Novi pazar to Nevsha because of a severe accident with three dead, the BNR reported, referring to the police. The car in which the victims had traveled crashed into a trailer truck. The bypass route is via Nevsha road junction - road I-2 - Vetrino junction.

A 40-year-old woman fell and died from the bridge ''Vitinia''.

Today, the repair of both pipes of the Vitinya tunnel on the Hemus highway is officially completed, and the pipe was opened in the direction to Sofia in the morning, reported bTV.
