Ex-health minister says he welcomes probe into hospital corruption
The vice president of New Democracy, Adonis Georgiadis, said on Monday that he "welcomed" an investigation into corruption at the Henry Dunant Hospital in Athens.
Hospital director in pretrial custody for giving free care to wealthy cronies
A former director at a hospital belonging to the Red Cross in Athens was returned to pretrial custody Wednesday by a corruption prosecutor after testifying at a hearing over his alleged provision of free medical care to prominent and wealthy people.
Greek politicians pay their respects to Stephanopoulos
Greek politicians on Monday paid their respects to Constantinos Stephanopoulos, a veteran conservative politician who served two terms as president of Greece from 1995-2005, after his death on Sunday aged 90.
A statement from the Henry Dunant Hospital said Stephanopoulos was admitted Thursday and died at 11:18 p.m. (2118 GMT) from "complications of pneumonia."
Former Greek president Stephanopoulos dies
Conservative politician Costis Stephanopoulos, who served as Greek President between 1995 and 2005, has died. He was 90.
Stephanopoulos had been admitted to Henry Dunant hospital in Athens on Tuesday with a diagnosis of acute respiratory infection.
Doctors said he died at 11.18 p.m. on Sunday as a result of damage to multiple organ systems.

Prosecutors order ex-hospital chief to be remanded in custody, release wife
The former director of the Henry Dunant Hospital in northern Athens was remanded yesterday after testifying for more than three hours in connection with accusations that he laundered 3.2 million deutschemark he had received nearly two decades ago as a bribe from a German hospital outfitter.
Hygeia takes over management of Henri Dunant hospital
The Hygeia group has agreed to take over the running of the Henri Dunant hospital in Athens, which ran into serious financial problems.
Hygeia issued a statement thanking the hospital and Piraeus Bank, its main creditor, for handing it the institutions management.
The Henri Dunant hospital has 37 clinics and four intensive care units and is run as a non-profit organization.

On May 8, Bulgaria marks the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) welcomed distinguished guests to a ceremony in its Sofia headquarters.
The date marks the birth of Henry Dunant (1828 - 1910), founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
