Traffic closures planned on March 25 for Independence Day parade

Streets in downtown Athens will be closed to traffic on March 25 due to the school and military parades that will be held to celebrate Greece's Independence Day.

No traffic will be allowed on Vassilisis Sofias, Amalias, and Georgiou A Avenues, as well as Herodou Attikou, Panepistimiou, Stadiou, Filellinon, and Akadimias streets.

Monica Bellucci honored in Thessaloniki

Monica Bellucci attended the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival on Thursday night, where she was celebrated with an honorary Golden Alexander award. 

The screening of her new film "Maria Callas: Letters and Memoirs" attracted large crowds outside the Olympion Theater on Wednesday evening, evidence of the mark she has left internationally through her career. 

Woody Allen is Athens bound

American filmmaker, actor, and comedian Woody Allen will be in Athens next month to promote his new film "Coup de chance."

The screening, which will be introduced by the director himself, will take place on September 8 at Cine Aegli, the outdoor cinema at the Zappeion, as part of the 29th Athens International Film Festival Premiere Nights.

Athens Festival to donate proceeds to fire victims

The board of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival announced on Thursday it will donate 20,000 euros to those affected by the devastating wildfires in Attica along with the proceeds from a special concert it will hold on August 29.

The concert, which will be held at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, will be organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
