The course of tourism in Corfu is on the rise since the beginning of the tourist season, with over 45 daily flights from Europe, while the occupancy of the five-star and six-star hotels now reaches 60% -70%. At the same time more than 200 cruise ships are expected to reach the port of the island.

Istanbul’s population more than 75 countries despite slight decline
The population of Turkey's biggest city of Istanbul is more than those of 75 countries in the world, despite a downward trend in population observed in the last year, according to the latest data released by the country's Interior Ministry.
Istanbul Opera Festival in July
The 12th International Istanbul Opera Festival will be held from July 1 to July 11 in the garden of Istanbul Archaeological Museums.
Organized by the Turkish State Opera and Ballet, the festival will kick off with the "Gala Concert," where 15 soloists will take the stage.

Turkey’s historical peninsula to host digital art exhibition
Istanbul's Binbirdirek Cistern will host a three-day digital art exhibition, titled 'Dalınç,' starting today.
Organized by Mezo Digital and curated by Seyhan Musaoğlu, the joint exhibition is the first leg of the Istanbul Digital Art Festival (IDAF).
Turkey sees over 59,000 house sales in May
Turkey recorded 59,166 house sales in May, up 16.2% year-on-year, the country's statistical authority announced June 14.
"Istanbul had the highest share with 19.2% and 11,356 house sales," TÜİK said in a statement.
The capital Ankara and the Aegean province of Izmir followed Istanbul with 5,653 and 3,298 house sales, respectively.

Kanal Istanbul construction to start at end of June: Erdoğan
The foundation of the major Kanal Istanbul project will be laid by the end of June, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said.
The canal will add more to Istanbul's strategic and geographical importance, Erdoğan said at the inauguration the state-of-the-art Çamlıca TV-Radio Tower in Istanbul on May 29.

The private Silk Road Museum in Turkey's Black Sea province Trabzon draws attention, with over 500 unique pieces from different eras and civilizations.
The museum was opened in 2014 by Trabzon Chamber Commerce of Industry (TTSO) in Ortahisar district.
