Some 28 killed in road accidents during Eid, says minister
Some 28 people were killed on roads in the first four days of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has announced.
"While eight people have died on July 8, eight died the day after, the first day of the holiday," Soylu said on social media. "Nine have died on the second day, while three have died on the last day of the festival."
Eid holiday gives boost to e-commerce
The Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha, which usually increases domestic tourism activity, has also helped boost sales on e-commerce platforms in Türkiye.
Online shopping rose around 30 percent, with sales of certain items, such as deep freezers and tires, increasing significantly, said Hakan Çevikoğlu, head of the E-commerce Enterprises Association (ETİD).

Over 5,000 injured while sacrificing animals
There were 5,102 people hospitalized for injuries while sacrificing animals on the first day of the Eid al-Adha across the country, Demirören News Agency has reported.
"The emergency rooms of hospitals were filled by inexperienced butchers," the agency said on July 10.

Mufti calls for equality of Muslim community in Slovenia
Ljubljana – Mufti Nevzet Porić said that authorities should eliminate discrimination between religious communities so that “the Islamic community will be treated as an equal community in the Republic of Slovenia” as he addressed Muslim believers during an Eid al-Adha service at Ljubljana’s mosque on Saturday morning.

Deaths due to road accidents during the Eid al-Fitr holiday declined by 61 percent this year, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said.
Even though the Eid holiday has already ended, and many people returned to their home towns, police units will remain on duty to conduct traffic inspections until the end of the week, the minister wrote on Twitter.
