Holy Synod concerned about ‘Macedonian’ liturgy
The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece has expressed its concerns to Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios over the request he received from the small local Rainbow Party to grant his approval for the divine liturgy to be conducted in the "Macedonian language" to cater for speakers of the Southern Slavic spoken in North Macedonia.

Holy Synod wants dialogue over state relations but no pay status change
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece said it was open to the continuation of dialogue with the state but stressed that it will not accept any changes to the salary status of clerics.

Gov't, Church still at odds on priest pay status
An agreement to continue paying Greek clerics, but as functionaries of the Church of Greece, not as civil servants, is "mutually beneficial," the Education and Religious Affairs Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday following talks on Tuesday between Minister Costas Gavroglou and church officials.

Greek bishops to decide on recognition of Ukrainian Church
The Hierarchy of the Church of Greece, comprised of 82 bishops, will decide in late February whether or not to recognize the autocephaly of the Church of Ukraine, which was formally granted independence from Moscow last Sunday by Istanbul-based Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios.

Holy Synod to convene amid pique over church-state deal

Holy Synod says no change needed in Church-state relations
