Scrutiny tightened over citizenship-related estate sales
An association of the Capital Markets Board (SPK) has intensified its investigations on both the real estate sector and entities producing valuation reports after extensive profiteering and manipulations were detected, particularly in property sales to foreigners seeking Turkish citizenship, a senior official has said.
At the End of the Year, Residential Buildings Put into Operation Increased by 50%
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, in the fourth quarter of 2019, the number of newly built residential buildings was 1,057 and the newly built dwellings in them were 4,474. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2018, the buildings were by 335 more (or by 46.4%), and the newly built dwellings in them increased by 2,101, or by 88.5%.
With More Than 11% More Residential Buildings Were Put Into Operation by March
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the first quarter of 2019 the number of newly built residential buildings was 635 and the newly built dwellings in them were 2 453, reported the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

Hot spot staff warn of strain as arrivals spike
