Bulgarian Community in Odesa Honors Hristo Botev's Legacy on 176th Anniversary

Representatives of the Bulgarian community in Odesa gathered to commemorate the 176th birth anniversary of poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev with a tribute event organized by the All-Ukrainian Centre for Bulgarian Culture and the local Bulgarian Society.

175 Years Since the Birth of Bulgarian Revolutionary and Poet Hristo Botev

The 175th anniversary of the birth of revolutionary poet Hristo Botev will be celebrated on January 6 across the country with rituals with the participation of representative units from the Ground Forces, the Air Force, the Navy, the Joint Special Operations Command, and the National Guard.

National Celebration at Okolchitsa Peak in Memory of Bulgarian Hero Hristo Botev

June 2 - Botev's Day is celebrated with a traditional national pilgrimage to Okolchitsa peak.

The emblematic verse "He who falls in the fight for freedom, he does not die" was again proclaimed on the mountainous Vratsa Balkan, where hundreds gathered to pay tribute to the Bulgarian heroes, 146 years after the heroic death of the poet-revolutionary.

Sirens Today - We Celebrate Botev’s Day and Those who Died for the Freedom of Bulgaria

The day of Botev and those who died for the freedom of Bulgaria will be celebrated in the military units of the country with honors.

At exactly 12.00 p.m., for 2 minutes, sirens across the country will sound with an intermittent signal.

June 2 - Remembrance Day for All Who Died for Freedom of Bulgaria

Across Bulgaria, sirens will sound for two minutes at noon on 2 June 2021 in an annual custom honouring the memory of revolutionary, poet and rebel Hristo Botev, who died in 1876 in the struggle against Ottoman rule, as well as in tribute to all who died for the freedom of Bulgaria.

Bulgaria Celebrates 173 years Since the Birth of Hristo Botev

Today marks 173 years since the birth of Hristo Botev.

A garland of glory will be laid in front of the monument of the great Bulgarian poet and revolutionary in his hometown of Kalofer. The solemn ceremony will begin with a military ritual from the yard of the Hristo Botev National Museum.
