At election time we ask ourselves whether things today are better than they were four years ago. The answer is, by definition, subjective. But it is determined by many factors, from objective developments to each voter's desires and prejudices. That is why even when opinion polls are consistent, an election is never predictable.

Election bans take effect
The election bans have started on May 4 according to the election calendar for the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections, which will be held on May 14. Accordingly, surveys, opinion polls, and forecasts will no longer be published.

Days of mourning have begun in Serbia
In accordance with the Law on Marking the Day of Mourning, certain rules are prescribed.
The regulations on the manner of marking the day of mourning state that authorities and organizations, as well as other legal entities that display the flag, are obliged to lower the flag of the Republic of Serbia to half-mast, i.e. at half mast, with appropriate lighting at night.

Parliament report lists measures to prevent child abuse
An investigation group commissioned by the parliament has prepared a report listing the measures to be taken to "intervene and eliminate child abuse risks," after a shocking case of a woman who was forced to marry at the tender age of 6 came to the forefront.

Citing an article from Kathimerini English Edition, the international body called for the apprehension of all those involved in the case.

Bulgaria: A 103-Year-Old Woman was Beaten for 150 Leva in a Village near Sandanski
A 103-year-old grandmother was beaten by her niece in the village of Damianitsa in the Sandanski region. The incident happened yesterday when grandmother Lyuba refused to give money to her 55-year-old niece.
After hitting her several times on the head, the niece stole BGN 150. She was later detained.
Kaili denies kickbacks probe reported in Politico
MEP Eva Kaili, who has been indicted over her involvement in the "Qatargate" corruption scandal, has denied claims made in a Politico report that she is also facing another criminal investigation into fraudulent payments involving four former assistants in the European Parliament from 2014 to 2020.
