Nearly one in five people obese in Turkey: Survey
Nearly one in five people in Turkey is obese, according to the results of a 2016 health survey released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on May 31.
The survey showed that 19.6 percent of Turkish citizens aged 15 years and older have a body mass index of 30 or over. The rate was 19.9 percent in 2014.

Nude Victorian era pics cause controversy in Sussex Museum of Art (photo)
A gallery has removed “offensive” Victorian-era nude photos from an exhibition after receiving complaints.
The six photographs, depicting nude and partially clothed women, are thought to date from the mid to late 19th Century.
They have piqued interest both artistically and historically while on display at The Edwin Budding Gallery, in Hassocks near Brighton.
Bulgaria Ranks 5th in Europe in Childhood Obesity
Childhood obesity is still an issue of concern in Bulgaria, with the country keeping its fifth spot among European states according to that criteria.
The announcement was made by Svetoslav Handzhiev, who heads the Bulgarian Association for the Study of Obesity and Related Diseases (BASORD), on the occasion of World Obesity Day, according to the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
