Istanbul to host second 24-hour cycling competition in September
BoostRace, a 24-hour-long cycling competition, will take place for the second time in Istanbul on Sept. 17 and 18, the organizers have announced.
The cycling teams will race, relax, sleep and feed at the same time of the day and night in Intercity Istanbul Park.
Türkiye eyes more foreign shoppers
The Culture and Tourism Ministry will work on new strategies for boosting tourism in Türkiye via ad campaigns and promotional videos centered on attracting foreign shoppers to the country, says Sinan Öncel, chair of the United Brands' Association (BMD).

Istanbul named among world’s best cities in 2022
A U.K.-based culture magazine has picked the world's best 53 cities, ranking Türkiye's largest city Istanbul in the list.
Out of the 53 ranked cities chosen by the Time Out magazine, Edinburgh made it to the top of the list and was followed by Chicago and Medellin, while Istanbul was listed 50th.

Population hits 84.6 mln, growth rate soars
Turkey's population hit 84.6 million as of end-2021, while the population growth rate significantly increased from 5.5 per thousand in 2020 to 12.7 per thousand in 2021, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced on Feb. 4.
