Dutch medical center probes suspected sperm mix-up

A Dutch medical institution announced an investigation Dec. 27 after discovering that up to 26 women may have been fertilized by the wrong sperm cells at its IVF treatment laboratory.

A "procedural error" between mid-April 2015 and mid-November 2016 during the in vitro fertilization was to blame, the University Medical Centre in Utrecht said in a statement.

Six women in illegal abortion cases in Cyprus confirmed to be from Turkey

A Turkish woman buried her full-term fetus in a plot in Northern Cyprus, a prosecutor has revealed during a court hearing in Girne, in a case in which a total of 10 women, including six Turkish citizens, are suspected of illegally aborting fetuses over five months old, daily Habertürk reported on Nov. 1.

Abortion is legal but not accessible, university study shows

Almost 10 percent of gynecology units at Turkish public hospitals do not offer abortion services, while some 78 percent provide the operation only if it is a life-threatening situation, research prepared by the Istanbul-based Kadir Has University has revealed. 
It concluded that although abortions are legal, they are not very accessible in the country. 

Sex not needed for reproduction in 30 years

According to a Stanford university professor sex in the future will be practiced only for pleasure and not for reproduction purposes. Henley Greely a professor in genetics published a book titled ‘The end of sex and the future of human reproduction’, where he posits that within the next 20-40 years most people will stop sexual intercourse to procreate.
