They said Turkey was violating religious freedoms and human rights

Turkey's foreign minister reiterated on July 10 that Turkey is determined to protect Turkish Cypriots' rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.         

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has rejected around 25,000 applications from Turkish citizens in relation to rights violations after the July 2016 coup attempt, according to a Justice Ministry official.

Turkey was the subject of the highest number of judgments regarding violations of freedom of expression in 2015, the European Court of Human Rights' annual activity report revealed on Jan. 28, with the country second only to Russia in the total number of violations. 

A group of Greek Cypriots has filed a war crimes complaint against Turkey at the International Criminal Court over what they say is its policy of settling Cyprus’ breakaway north with mainland Turks.

This Saturday, July 12, there was a solemn ceremony in Cyprus. Forty years after he went missing, the remains of a Greek Cypriot was finally laid to rest. This was the first-ever funeral held in northern Cyprus for a Greek Cypriot missing person.
