A man who fatally beat a German student of Turkish origin while she was trying to protect two women from harassment has been sentenced to three years in jail, Turkish media has reported.

A Turkish mother, 36, has shot dead her daughter, 17, after finding out that she was three months pregnant.

A French court on June 12 acquitted former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of pimping charges, drawing a line under a series of legal woes over his sexual escapades.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), was acquitted from charges of “aggravated pimping” after standing trial in a court in Lille, France. The ruling ends four years of legal drama that began when a New York hotel cleaner accused him of sexual assault.

Four children in every average school class  [25-30 pupils] in Serbia have experienced some kind of sexual violence but only 7 per cent of those who knew of such cases have reported this to the authorities, the results of the first National Study On Child Sexual Abuse show.

The 52-year-old teacher accused by parents of sexually harassing eight students, aged 10 and 11 years of age, is appearing before the Court of Misdemeanours in Trikala. He stands accused of displaying lewd and inappropriate behavior but denies charges.
