Marriages down, divorces up in Turkey
Fewer people in Turkey got married in 2019 while more got divorced compared to the previous year, said the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Feb. 26.
"The number of couples who got married was 554,389 in 2018, [versus] 541,424 in 2019, decreasing 2.3 percent," TurkStat said in a statement.

Mitsotakis to meet Borissov in Thessaloniki on Wednesday
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will on Wednesday head to the city of Alexandroupolis, northern Greece, where he will participate in the 4th Greece-Bulgaria High Level Cooperation Council.
Ahead of the Council, he will meet with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at 10.30 a.m.

President Iohannis: I've convened parliamentary parties for consultations on Wednesday
President Klaus Iohannis has convened the parliamentary parties and formations on Wednesday for consultations after accepting the resignation of Ludovic Orban from Prime Minister-designate office. "I will convene consultations with the parliamentary parties, which are to begin tomorrow at 16:00hrs and conclude at 20:00hrs," the head of state announced at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
Nineteen groups appeal to PM to protect unaccompanied child migrants
Nineteen organizations have signed an open letter addressed to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis calling for the protection of unaccompanied child migrants.
The letter highlighted that these children "are lacking in adequate hospitality structures, but also in a holistic system for child protection."
