EU Launches Legal Action Against Hungary Over Sovereignty Law

The European Commission has initiated legal proceedings against Hungary over its controversial "sovereignty law," marking another chapter in the ongoing clash between Brussels and Budapest. The move comes in response to concerns that the law, championed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's government, undermines fundamental rights and democratic principles.

Orban’s ‘Neverendums’

Critics counter that the questions are mostly irrelevant, as no school organises sex education for children without the consent of parents and gender reassignment is not legally possible under the age of 18, and even for those older has been made extremely difficult.

Orban: Hungary will Return Migrants to Greece

Hungary has no option and does not want to accept migrants who will be returned from Germany. We are ready to help bring them back to Greece. This was said by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"From the very beginning of the migrant crisis, the Hungarian position was very sincere and open, despite the fact that it seemed quite unpleasant," Orban said.

Europe Migrant Crisis: EU Court Rejects Quota Challenge

The EU's top court has rejected a challenge by Hungary and Slovakia to a migrant relocation deal drawn up at the height of the crisis in 2015, reported BBC. 

The European Court of Justice overruled their objections to the compulsory fixed-quota scheme.

Hungary has not accepted a single asylum seeker under the scheme since it was introduced two years ago.
