Bulgaria Tops EU Charts with a 31.5% Surge in New Car Registrations in 2023
Bulgaria has emerged as the leader in new car registrations across the European Union in 2023, witnessing an impressive year-on-year growth of 31.5%, totaling 37,724 units, reports the latest data from the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The country's remarkable performance outpaced the EU average, positioning it at the forefront of automotive market expansion.
Türkiye seeking to lure more foreign carmakers: Minister
Talks are ongoing with carmakers from Europe and Asia, including China, to lure more investments into Türkiye's automotive sector, Industry and Technology Minister Fatih Kacır has said.
"We are hoping that at least one of them will announce an investment decision by the end of the year," he said.
China orders recall of 1.1 million Teslas
Chinese safety regulators have ordered Tesla to recall 1.1 million vehicles because drivers might step on the accelerator for too long, increasing the risk of a crash.
The State Administration for Market Regulation said in a notice that the recall involves imported Model S, X and 3 models as well as the Chinese-made Models Y and 3.

Chinese Carmaker Geely Has Sold More than 1 Million Vehicles this Year
Chinese carmaker Geely has announced that it has reached 80% of its target annual sales. For the first ten months of this year, the company was able to sell a total of 1,088,290 vehicles.
For the third year in a row, Geely's annual sales exceed 1 million units. In October alone, 130,180 vehicles were sold, 14% up from the previous year.

1300 Alternative Fuel Vehicles Sold in Bulgaria in 2017
A total of 1,300 vehicles powered by an alternative fuel (electric vehicles plus hybrid electric cars) were purchased in Bulgaria in 2017, according to current data from the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA). Of these, cars powered by electricity are 105 new cars, and the remaining 1195 are hybrid machines combined with an electric drive.
