Israeli ambassador expresses support for Cyprus' EEZ rights
The Israeli Ambassador to Cyprus Sammy Revel has expressed its support for Nicosia following Turkey's decision to begin drilling operations within Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
"Israel is following with serious concern recent steps taken by Turkey in Cyprus EEZ, off its western coast," Revel wrote on Twitter.

ExxonMobil announces discovery of gas reserve in Cyprus
US oil giant ExxonMobil announced on Thursday the discovery of a significant offshore gas find in Cyprus's Block 10, Kathimerini Cyprus reported.
According to the preliminary interpretation of the data, the natural gas reservoir at the Glaucus-1 well is estimated between 5 trillion to 8 trillion cubic feet.
US's Palmer urges restraint in East Mediterranean

Top US diplomat for Europe to resign in February
Wess Mitchell, assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, will reportedly resign from his position next month, according to the Washington Post.
Mitchell cited personal and professional reasons the resignation letter he submitted to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the paper said.
