Two migrant smugglers arrested at border
Police arrested two men on Friday after they attempted to smuggle 12 people over the border with Turkey in Evros prefecture.
Police officers from Alexandroupoli stopped a vehicle, in which they found eight migrants who did not have travel documents.

Two men arrested during burglary attempt
Two men, aged 37 and 27, were apprehended on Friday in Peristeri, western Athens, after being caught in the act of attempting to break into a vehicle.
The suspects attempted to flee upon police arrival at the scene. After a chase, the police arrested the two men and confiscated two hoods, gloves, eight rings, 200 euros and a watch stolen from a nearby residence.

Two youths arrested for stealing motorcycle
Two teens were arrested in the northern city of Thessaloniki on Wednesday after they are caught riding a stolen motorcycle.
Officers run the licence plate and discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen on Dec. 29.

Athens jewelry store robbed of €200,000 worth of gems
Unknown perpetrators carried out a heist at a high-end jewelry store on in central Athens on Saturday at dawn.
According to the police, the thieves entered between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., initially accessing an adjacent abandoned building. Using tools, they created a hole in the common wall, gaining entry to the jewelry store.
Man driving a stolen car arrested in police pursuit
A 33-year-old man from Armenia was arrested in the early hours of Sunday after a police pursuit.
According to the police, around 4 a.m. officers in the northwestern Athenian area of Fyli attempted to stop a vehicle for a search. The driver, riding in a stolen car, accelerated to escape.
Police detain suspect after gunfire at Roma camp in Megara
Police have apprehended a 36-year-old suspect and identified two additional individuals, aged 28 and 32, in connection with discharging a firearm into the air following a raid at a Roma camp in Megara, west of Athens.
Two remanded over car chase resulting in officer’s death
Two men have been remanded in custody after appearing before an investigating magistrate in Piraeus in relation to the fatal injury earlier this week of a 29-year-old officer of the Dias police motorcycle unit after a road chase.
The two men, aged 17 and 20, have been charged with joining and participating in a criminal organization.

Two apprehended in attempted break-in at Ministry of Labor branch
Police arrested two individuals attempting to break into a branch of the Ministry of Labor in the center of Athens late on Sunday. The suspects, a 29-year-old Greek man and a 29-year-old Bangladeshi man, utilized an electric grinder to cut the lock of the main gate, shattering a glass window in the process.
ATM robbers get away with €100,000 in cash
Police in the northwestern city of Preveza believe that the gang who blew up an ATM in nearby town got away with €100,000 in cash.
An additional sum of €15,000 was destroyed in the explosion at the National Bank branch in Louros, which took place at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
