Police arrested on Wednesday four people believed to be involved in a criminal gang that robbed passersby in the suburb of Glyfada, in southern Athens.

The police have been negotiating with him for the past few hours to get him to put down the weapon.
The street was closed and several police teams were on duty throughout the night, as well as emergency services and firefighters.

A 68-year-old woman was killed by a pack of dogs in a scrapyard lot in Ano Liosia, northern Athens, on Saturday morning, state broadcaster ERT reported.

Four migrants and a suspected trafficker died Saturday and another six were injured when their car collided head-on with another as it sped the wrong way on a major highway in Greece near the Turkish border, police said.
