Police arrest gang of thieves operating in Athens suburb
Police arrested on Wednesday four people believed to be involved in a criminal gang that robbed passersby in the suburb of Glyfada, in southern Athens.

A 20-year-old man was robbed shortly after midnight in the southern suburb of Glyfada.
According to the police, four suspects approached the young man on Bouboulina Street and forcefully took his wallet, containing 80 euros, before fleeing the scene.
Prison deputy director dies in car crash
The deputy director of the Malandrino Prison died in a car crash in central Greece on Tuesday, local media reported.
The woman was returning to Nafpaktos, where she lives, when her car veered off course near the area of Faneromeni and plunged seven meters into a ravine.
Local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Woman killed by pack of dogs in northern Athens
A 68-year-old woman was killed by a pack of dogs in a scrapyard lot in Ano Liosia, northern Athens, on Saturday morning, state broadcaster ERT reported.
The woman was attacked by the dogs outside the mobile home where she lived with her 70-year-old partner. The trailer was parked inside a scrapyard, whose owner, aged 76, has been arrested.

Four migrants among six killed in highway crash in Greece
Four migrants and a suspected trafficker died Saturday and another six were injured when their car collided head-on with another as it sped the wrong way on a major highway in Greece near the Turkish border, police said.
The driver of the other car, a 46-year-old Greek man, also died in the collision, police said.

Suspect arrested for pulling firearm on officers during police operation in Athens
Police have arrested a 25-year-old foreign national who allegedly pulled out a firearm on officers inside a nightclub in Athens during the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred during a police operation that involved inspections at a total of 14 stores, during which 20 individuals were inspected, with four brought in for questioning.
