Burglar digs tunnel to break into Thessaloniki pharmacy

A pharmacy located in the Sykies district of Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, was burglarized in the early hours of Wednesday.

According to police, the culprit broke through brick and concrete walls by digging a tunnel to gain access to the pharmacy and stole an unknown amount of cash.

No suspects have been identified yet, and no arrests have been made.

The body of a 31-year-old man was found under the bridge of Racho the monument of Racho the Blacksmith in Gabrovo.

The police were alerted at around 8 o'clock this morning by people passing by. An on-site inspection was carried out, video surveillance cameras in the area are also being reviewed.

Thessaloniki police arrest man on suspicion of attempted rape

Police in Thessaloniki have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of the attempted rape of a 19-year-old woman, who is being treated in a hospital in the city.

On Friday evening, the woman told police that in the early hours of the same day, she was approached by the suspect in the Toumba area, who attempted to rape her and stole her backpack.

Officer shot while looking for thief in western Attica

A police officer of the DIAS motorcycle unit was shot in the abdomen while chasing a thief in western Attica but avoided serious injury because he wore a bulletproof vest. 

The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the industrial area of Aspropyrgos where officers had been called to locate the man who robbed a pedestrian.

Armored car guard held up in Sepolia

An armored car guard was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday morning while he was loading cash in an ATM located at the entrance of a supermarket in the district of Sepolia, central Athens.

The three suspects confronted the guard, removed the cash boxes and fled with an undisclosed amount, police said. The incident took place shortly after 11 a.m.
