I (Almost) Got Away With It

A well-known local rapper was arrested late on Friday night outside Agrinio in Central Greece in possession of illegal weapons.

The trap music artist was traveling to another Greek city to give a concert when he was stopped by police officers near the Riganis toll road.

A policeman was detained on Wednesday evening in Kazanlak. He tested positive for alcohol while on duty, the police confirmed to Nova TV.

The one in uniform is a patrol officer. According to Nova TV, this is an employee from the Kazanlak police station. A positive sample of 1.6 per thousand was reported.

Police in Athens said on Thursday they found nothing suspicious in a sweep of a private school after receiving reports that two individuals had entered the school's premises holding sharp objects.

Police officers had rushed to Athens College, a co-educational private school in the northern suburb of Psychiko, after the alarm was raised by a school security officer.

Seven suspects who, according to some reports, are members of anti-establishment groups, were arrested on Wednesday in the western port city of Patra and charged with the possession of weapons and explosives.

More specifically, a raid of one of the houses yielded two pistols, 230 grams of explosives and a detonator, while four hydroponic cannabis units were also identified. 

Police in Thessaloniki announced on Monday that they had cracked the case of a robbery that occurred in November 2019 involving the theft of a safe from an apartment in the city center, which, according to the 64-year-old owner, contained money and jewelry worth more than 190,000 euros.

Two people stormed an OPAP Play gaming hall in western Thessaloniki on Tuesday night and took 1,000 euros in cash, police said Thursday.

A 17-year-old boy was attacked with a screwdriver while sitting with a girl of the same age at a bus stop in the district of Egaleo, western Athens, on Wednesday afternoon, police said Thursday.

Three armed men held a jewellery store at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon in the Athens suburb of Vari, with a nearby onlooker helping the police arrest one of them.

Istanbul police have caught the suspect wanted for 19 years on charges of embezzling $4.5 million and 500,000 pounds by getting his customers to sign blank receipts while working as a manager at a bank.
