Slovenian firm goes all in on gelato

Slovenian gelato company Aroma Global is launching ice-cream production in Croatia's Ogulin in what it says will be the world's largest gelato factory using all-natural ingredients.

The company has invested €7.3 million in expansion over the past 15 months, opening 47 new ice-cream parlours in Croatia on top of existing three. They have none in Slovenia.

Ice Cream Market | Athens | June 7-9

Greece's first-ever festival dedicated entirely to an all-time summer classic, yummy ice cream, is taking place at the old OSY bus depot in downtown Athens from Friday through Sunday. Apart from more than 20 well-known and artisanal brands showcasing their goods, the event will also see ice-cream makers and pastry chefs doing all sorts of weird and wonderful things with the stuff.

Factory for Ice Cream in Varna Closes Doors

The Swiss-British Froneri is closing its ice cream factory in Varna and will now import from Serbia, said Capital.

The company is charging Nestle freezers, and among the popular brands are BOSS, Magnum, Familia.

The factory, which has 72 employees, will stop production on March 1. Some of them will be offered the opportunity to move to other Froneri factories abroad.
