Slovenia’s flatwater kayakers Ponomarenko Janić and Osterman European champions
Poznan – Slovenia’s female pair Špela Ponomarenko Janić and Anja Osterman won Sunday’s 200-metre race at the Canoe Sprint European Championships in Poznan, Poland. While their excellent K2 performances at top competitions are continuing, this is their first gold from European or world championships.
Bulgaria's Staniliya Stamenova Wins Women's Singles Canoe 200m World Title
Bulgaria's Staniliya Stamenova won gold in C1 (singles canoe) 200m women's finals at the 2015 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, Italy on Sunday.
Stamenova, the defending silver medalist, clocked 48.717 seconds, coming ahead of Canada's three-time World Champion in Women's C1 200m Laurence Vincent Lapointe.
Grujic, Novakovic champions, silver for Moldovan sisters
MOSCOW - Serbia won three medals on the last day of the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships (WC) in Moscow, its most successful athletes being Nebojsa Grujic and Marko Novakovic, who won the men’s K-2 200m event.
Kayak duo and Benedek-Ruzicic win bronzes at Canoe WC
MOSCOW - Serbian kayaking duo of Marko Tomicevic and Vladimir Torubarov and single kayaker Dalma Benedek-Ruzicic won the bronze medals in the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships’ men's K-2 1000m and women's K-1 1000m events, respectively, in Moscow Saturday.
