Italy’s Etna volcano erupts on Sicily, closing two airports
Italy's Mount Etna, Europe's biggest live volcano, erupted overnight with lava flows and explosive burps, vulcanologists said on July 20.
Mount Etna WAKES UP
Increased activity of the Etna volcano in Sicily was noted by experts from the National Geophysics and Vulcano Institute in Italy (INGV).
This is an eruption from the so-called "new crater", located at the top of the southeast slope of Mount Etna. The last time the volcano "woke up" on July 14th.

Etna Volcano WAKES UP!
Two fractures opened at the base of the South-East crater and on the north-eastern flank of the New South-East crater at about 3am local time (2am BST). The lava flows were accompanied by a Strombolian activity from the main craters. However nearby Catania airport remains open, reported express.co.uk.

Volcano in Mexico Has Erupted
The Popocatepetlvolcano in Mexico has erupted spewing ash and black smoke into the sky at a height of 3.5 kilometers, Nova TV reported, according to the National Civil Protection Service, quoted by BGNews.
After the ashes were discharged, the volcano continued its activity, erupting gas at an altitude of 800 meters. Authorities warn of the danger of approaching the colossus.

Guatemala's Fuego Volcano Eruption Forces 4,000 to Evacuate
More than 4,000 people living in communities around the Fuego volcano in the Guatemalan Escuintla Department were forced to evacuate their homes late on Sunday as the volcano erupted for a second time this year, reported Aljazeera.
"It was tremendous, we could not sleep," said Victor Hernandez, a 38-year old farmer and ranch worker from the village of El Rancho, El Rodeo, Escuintla.

Archaeological works in the southern province of Kahramanmaraş's Domuztepe Mound have unearthed an 8,000-year-old tool made of obsidian stone, believed to have been used as a razorblade, along with a spinner.

Indonesia's Volcano Island Blasts 49 Times
A volcanic island in Indonesia's Sunda Strait has erupted 49 times prompting authorities to expand the danger zone from one kilometre to two, an official said.
Mount Anak Krakatau has emitted ash, sand and red-hot rocks since midnight on Thursday, said Sutopo Nugroho from the National Disaster Management Agency.
