Greek police officer with 225 pounds of marijuana in patrol car arrested
A police officer on patrol duty in northwestern Greece was arrested on drugs charges Friday for allegedly using his service car to smuggle marijuana, authorities said.
The suspect was detained in the port town of Igoumenitsa following a road chase, together with an Albanian man found to be riding in the unmarked police vehicle.

Traffic regulations on Egnatia Odos due to tunnel maintenance

Migrants hidden in truck stopped in Igoumenitsa
Greek authorities have apprehended two undocumented migrants from Iraq, aged 23 and 26, in the northwestern port of Igoumenitsa as they attempted to travel to Italy concealed within a freight truck.
Additionally, a 52-year-old suspected smuggler, also from Iraq, has been detained in connection with the same incident.

Greek Parliament approves Igoumenitsa, Thessaloniki port bills
The Greek Parliament's plenary debated and approved two ratification bills on Tuesday evening, one for the port of Igoumenitsa in western Greece and one amending the concession for the port of Thessaloniki.
Both ratification bills were included in a bill by the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy.

Grimaldi lands Iraklio port after Igoumenitsa
Italian group Grimaldi, which controls 100% of Minoan Lines, bid 80 million euros for 67% of the Iraklio Port Authority and is acquiring a second Greek port of international interest.
The financial offer of the Italian group values the entire share capital of the largest port of Crete at €120 million.

Cannabis haul in Igoumenitsa
Two people were arrested in the town of Igoumenitsa, Western Greece for the possession of 67 kilograms of raw cannabis contained in packages in their car.
They were nabbed on Sunday after police officers spotted what they deemed to be a suspicious car in the town and hailed it down for an inspection.
They found 45 packages of raw cannabis, weighing a total of 66.98 kilograms.
