Number of illegal migrants more than doubles to 15,500 in Jan-Sept
Slovenian police intercepted a total of 15,590 illegal migrants in the January-September period, a rise of 115% from the same nine-month period last year. Police statistics show that Afghanistan citizens accounted for the largest single group of illegal migrants – 2,691 of the total.

Macedonians, Albanians ‘Most-Deported Nationalities’ by Germany
The German federal authorities told the Bundestag that 6,198 foreign nationals were deported from the country from January to June this year, after a request for the information from MPs from The Left party, media reported on Friday.

Greece pushes back more than 41,000 migrants since 2020: Report
Greece has pushed back a total of 41,523 irregular migrants to Turkish waters between 2020 and May 31, 2022, according to a report by Turkey's Ombudsman Institution (KDK).
The report also said that 53 irregular migrants in 2021 and 33 others in 2022 lost their lives - either drowned or froze to death - due to pushbacks.
Turkey expands capacity of repatriation centers
Turkey has increased the number of repatriation centers, expanding the capacity of those facilities to accommodate 20,000 people.
The capacity of the repatriation centers scattered across the European Union countries is only 16,000.
