Alpha posts higher quarterly profit on interest takings
Alpha Bank, Greece's third-largest lender by market value, on Monday posted a 24% rise in first-quarter net profit on higher interest income.
Alpha Bank, which is 9% owned by Greece's HFSF bank rescue fund, said net profit came in at 162 million euros, up from €131 million in the first quarter last year.
Luka Koper’s net profit nearly doubles in Q1 to over EUR 16m
Koper – Port operator Luka Koper posted a net profit of EUR 16.5 million for the first quarter of 2022, up 91% over the same period in 2021. Sales revenue rose by 23% to EUR 70.9 million, and transshipped goods were up 18% to nearly 5.9 million tonnes, show unaudited results released on Friday.

Georgiadis – Government measures offset rising prices
The Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiadis, appeared reassuring that the measures announced by the government for the relief of households will compensate the burden from the wave of price increases in the market.
Luka Koper sales slide 8% in 2020, net profit down 21%
Koper – Port operator Luka Koper reported sales dropping by 8% year-on-year to EUR 210 million as shipping volumes contracted across the board. Net profit declined by 21% to EUR 32 million but it was still a percent higher than planned.
Pegasus Airlines targets $278 mln profit
Turkey's Pegasus Airlines has said it targets a net profit between 210 million and 250 million euros (around $278 million) this year.
The carrier's EbitDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) margin forecast for 2020 is 32 percent to 32.5 percent.
Pegasus also expects a 12 percent to 14 percent capacity increase (available seat kilometers).

Forthnet sees clientele drop as EBITDA expands
Listed telecommunications provider Forthnet on Tuesday reported a 5.6 percent decline in triple-play subscribers in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2017, and a 2.7 percent drop in the number of subscribers in Greece and Cyprus for its satellite pay-TV platform Nova.

Inspectors of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) start inspections of 290 people, who have spent more than 50,000 leva in past years but have no officially declared income.

Dollar and euro rise to record against lira
The U.S. dollar reached a historic high of 3.4998 Turkish Liras on Dec. 1 in the afternoon, as the euro rose to 3.7162, again an all-time high.
The Borsa Istanbul also lost some 2 percent.
