Skepticism across European markets about the course of the global economy and next week's rate decision by the Federal Reserve in the US, kept buyers on the Greek bourse at bay on Tuesday, with the benchmark showing minimal losses in the end.

ATHEX: Coca-Cola leads decline
The Greek bourse saw sellers focus on its non-bank stocks on Thursday, leading to notable losses for its benchmark.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 566.58 points, shedding 1.47 percent from Wednesday's 575.06 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index contracted 1.68 percent to end at 1,524.17 points, though small-caps rose 1.26 percent.

The Athens bourse was in the red for a second day in a row on Wednesday, and despite efforts to rebound during closing auctions - unlike on Tuesday - was unable to push the benchmark into the green, ending with losses of over three points, despite the positive picture seen in most other continental markets.

ATHEX: Fitch report reverses bourse growth
Disappointment from Fitch's report, which did not raise Greece's credit rating last Friday, and from a German press report that the next bailout disbursement is not coming anytime soon, put an end to a growth streak on the local bourse, which saw exceptionally low trading volume on Monday, partly due to the US holiday.

Greek factory activity contracts faster in May as new orders fall
Greek manufacturing activity shrank for the fourth month in a row in May as a big drop in new orders was accompanied by job losses and a fall in production, a survey showed on Wednesday.
