Turkey announced new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus on March 15 as it continued efforts to curb its spread.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter that 12 more people have been diagnosed with the virus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 18.

The number of coronavirus deaths in Spain has doubled in the last day and nearly 8,000 have been infected, the Spanish health ministry said today, quoted by world agencies.

Bulgaria's Parliament on March 13 voted to approve changes to the Penal Code and the law on health, which will be promulgated in the State Gazette tomorrow.

The aim of the changes is to stop the spread of infectious diseases including the new Covid-19 coronavirus.

Thus, the number of cases registered by 8 am on March 14, 2020, increased to 41.

Turkey's health minister announced on March 13 another case of the coronavirus (COVID-19), only the second case seen in the country.

"He is from the immediate circle of our first patient, who was followed up as soon as the diagnosis was made," Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter.

The number of coronavirus infections in Greece rose to 117, Greek Health Ministry spokesman Sotiris Tsiodras told journalists on Thursday.

Tsiodras said 107 of those cases are linked to known cases, 10 have unknown origin, while another 15 cases are being investigated to determine their origin.

Recently, the World Health Organization chairman Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has declared the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 for a pandemic.

"In the past two weeks, the number of cases of COVID-19 outside China has increased 13-fold, and the number of affected countries has tripled.  

"Patients are being monitored, people who may be infected are being tested, other public health measures are being introduced," Ivanusa told Radio Television Serbia.
Asked if schools should be closed, he said it would be premature at this stage.

The Greek Health Ministry has confirmed the country's first death from the Covid-19 coronavirus in the early hours of Thursday.

In Serbia, two more cases of infection with COVID-19 have been confirmed, bringing the total number of infected to four, the Ministry of Health said.

According to information from the MIA, 108 people have been tested in the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute to date. Last night 5 people were tested for the new coronavirus. Two of the samples were positive.
