We Can be Infected with Both Flu and COVID-19, the Bulgarian Ministry of Health Warns

Seasonal flu and COVID-19 are contagious respiratory diseases caused by various viruses. COVID-19 is a coronavirus infection SARS-CoV-2, first identified in 2019, and the flu is caused by infection with various influenza viruses. Seasonal flu has long been known in medical science.

NIJZ orders more doses of flu vaccine than last year

Ljubljana – The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has ordered 360,000 doses of flu vaccine for this season, which is more than last year, when demand exceeded expectation. It is not clear yet whether the vaccine will be available for free this year as well. Flu vaccination usually starts in October.

China confirms first human case of bird flu strain

China reported the world's first human infection of the H10N3 bird flu strain on June 1 but said the risk of it spreading widely among people was low.

A 41-year-old man was admitted to hospital with fever symptoms in the eastern city of Zhenjiang on April 28 and was diagnosed with H10N3 a month later, China's National Health Commission (NHC) said in an online statement.

Premier Citu urges parents to keep children with symptoms at home

Prime Minister Florin Citu urged on Monday, the reopening day for schools, a responsible behavior from parents, stating that it is recommendable to keep home children with symptoms, even of flu. The Premier also called on teachers to get the COVID-19 vaccine. "It depends on all of us together to have a smooth school year.
