West Nile virus toll rises to 25
The death toll in Greece from West Nile virus since June this year has risen to 25, according to this week's report by the National Health Organization (EODY).
Up until September 19, authorities had diagnosed a total of 195 cases of the mosquito-borne virus. Of these, 121 developed illnesses affecting the central nervous system such as encephalitis or meningitis.

West Nile death toll rises to 20
The death toll from the West Nile virus since June this year has risen to 20, according to this week's report by the National Health Organization (EODY).
Up until September 12, authorities had diagnosed a total of 176 cases of the mosquito-borne virus. Of these, 109 developed illnesses affecting the central nervous system such as encephalitis or meningitis.

Doctors call for precautions as West Nile Virus continues to spread
The Athens Medical Association (ISA) has renewed its call to the public to take all the necessary precautions as the West Nile Virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest data, the number of infections has risen to 96 while the death toll has climbed to 10.
