Investigation to be opened over main opposition leader's visit to base: Minister

An investigation will be opened following main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's visit to a military base in the western province of Balıkesir on April 13, where he was greeted by a guard of honor, Defense Minister Fikri Işık has said, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on April 24.

Inspections To Be Launched of Tunnels Along Lyulin, Hemus Highways

An inspection of all tunnels along the Lyulin and Hemus highways is about to be launched.

The examination will be carried out by a specialised unit for inspection. It will include experts from the Transport Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Road Infrastructure Agency, as well as the University of Architecture.

Bulgaria's Defence Minister Files Report on Violations of Public Procurement Orders

An inspection of the work of the Defence Ministry has uncovered irregularities in over 100 public procurement orders, announced at a briefing interim Defence Minister Stefan Yanev.

The report on the public procurement orders where violations and bad practices have been discovered has been sent to the Prosecutor's Office.

Bulgaria's Security Agency Conducts Inspection at State Fund Agriculture

Bulgaria's State Agency for National Security (DANS) and the specialized prosecutor's office conducted an inspection at the State Fund Agriculture on Wednesday.

The executive director of the fund, Rumen Porozhanov, revealed that the authorities requested documents concerning contracts under the Rural Development programme.

Russian Inspection Group to Oversee Military Locations in Bulgaria

A Russian inspection group is in Bulgaria on a three-day visit in order to oversee military activities, reported the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The inspection is a clause of the Vienna Document, established in 2011 by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), of which both Bulgaria and the Russian Federation are members.
