Netflix will work with Microsoft to launch a cheaper subscription plan that includes advertisements, the firms said have said, as the streaming giant fights to attract customers.

Russian subscribers have lost access to streaming giant Netflix in the latest pullout of a Western company over the conflict in Ukraine.    

The Netflix site and apps were no longer available from Friday and a Netflix spokesperson confirmed that subscribers no longer had access.  

An unexpectedly sharp drop in subscribers has Netflix considering changes it has long resisted: Minimizing password sharing and creating a low-cost subscription supported by advertising.

Looming changes announced late on April 19 are designed to help Netflix regain momentum lost over the past year.

Netflix has delivered its latest quarter of disappointing subscriber growth during the final three months of last year.

The online video giant Netflix has already got more than 158 million subscribers worldwide, generating more than $ 5 billion in revenue in the third quarter of 2019, France Press reported.

The company's shares have risen with nearly 10 percent in e-commerce since the end of the regular New York Stock Exchange daily session.

Netflix's market value has already passed the $ 100 billion mark since the leading streaming service added more new subscribers than expected. The last quarter of 2017 has brought the company two million new customers more than Wall Street's forecasts and revenues have tripled. As a result of this success, for the first time in its history Netflix costs more than 100 billion dollars.

Some 47 percent of Netflix users in Turkey say it is more important for them to “watch films and TV series than have a conversation,” according to a recent survey by the company spanning 22 countries.

Netflix added a record seven million subscribers over the past quarter as part of its global expansion drive, fueling a surge in revenue and profit for the streaming television giant.

California-based Netflix said in its quarterly report on Jan. 18 it ended the year with nearly 94 million subscribers, adding five million outside the United States in the last three months of the year.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings on Wednesday announced that the U.S. internet TV streaming company has become available in 130 new countries.

Serbia, Russia, and India are among the countries where the service went live as Hastings made the announcement during the CES 2016 tech trade show in Las Vegas.

Bulgaria is one of the 130 countries to which video streamer Netflix surprisingly announced on Wednesday it is expanding, its newly published list shows.

Netflix co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings is quoted as saying at CES 2016, an international technology event, that the company is now bringing about "a new global TV network".
