Journalists strike over lack of collective labor agreements
Greek journalists are holding a 24-hour strike on Tuesday to protest the employers' refusal to sign collective labor agreements in privately owned media, low wages and a threat to plurality, their unions said.
Athens journalists’ union grants honorary membership to Assange
The Athens Daily Newspaper Journalists' Union (ESIEA) has granted honorary membership to journalist and Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange, it announced on Thursday.
The union is participating in an initiative of the Italian journalists union FNSI, which has been adopted by the European Federation of Journalists, an affiliate of the International Federation of Journalists.

On its 18th anniversary, Romanian Journalists Union launches MediaSind TV online platform
The Romanian Journalists Union launches on Friday, on its 18th anniversary, the MediaSind TV online platform, the union said in a release. "MediaSind TV, the new project to be launched today, will be an online communication platform for everyone in the big media family. MediaSind TV will be the instrument through which the voice of union members will be heard.
Concern over threats to investigative reporter
This is stated in a letter the organization, representing more than 8,000 members, has sent to the Serbian State Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac.

Internet journalists eligible to join ESIEA Union
The Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA) decided to allow internet journalists-employees to be eligible to apply for membership in the union. The union’s board met and decided to initiate the process of registration to its registrar for employees and journalists in news and information sites.
