Hungarian Parliament Approves Construction of Border Fence
The Hungarian Parliament approved on Monday the construction of a fence along the border with Serbia as a measure towards reducing the influx of refugees.
Hungarian MPs also adopted amendments to several laws relating to migration and asylum, Daily News Hungary informs.
War Crime Convictions Urged for Serbian Security Officials
In an appeal hearing on Monday at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the prosecution asked for a reversal of the initial verdict on former state security officials Stanisic and Simatovic which found them not guilty of war crimes in Bosnia and Croatia during the 1990s.
Russian resolution condemns all crimes, supports Dayton
A draft Russian resolution on Bosnia strongly condemns and deplores the most serious crimes committed during the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia.
The draft submitted to the UN Security Council refers to crimes committed against persons of different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
Two convicted for crime committed in Croatia in 1991
The War Crimes Department of the Belgrade Higher Court has sentenced two former members of the Militia and Territorial Defense of Sotin, a village in Croatia.
They were put on trial on charges of killing 16 Croatian civilians.

Eurostat: Over quarter of asylum seekers come from Kosovo
Over one quarter of the 185,000 people who applied for asylum in the EU in the first quarter of the year are citizens of Kosovo, according to Eurostat.
This makes them the most numerous category among asylum-seekers, the EU's statistical office said on Thursday.

Lawyers for war crimes defendant Goran Hadzic, who was temporarily released for cancer treatment, asked the Hague Tribunal to stop or suspend the trial because he has not long to live.

"Over 1,300 unattended children request asylum"
Over 3,000 children requested asylum in Serbia since the beginning of the year, over 1,300 of them children without parental escort.
At the same time, "is not known how many children are staying or transiting through the country without requesting asylum," Director of the Center for Protection and Assistance to Asylum Seekers Rados Djurovic stated on Wednesday.
