Two-Day International Summit on Migration to Begin in Valletta
An international summit on migration will take place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in the Maltese capital of Valletta on Wednesday and Thursday.
Back in April, the European Council called for the holding of an international summit to discuss migration issues with African and other key countries concerned.
Migrant Arrivals in Greece Spike, Take 2015 Total Above Half-Million Mark
The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has reported an unprecedentedly high number of migrant arrivals in Greece by sea at the end of last week.
More than 27,000 migrants have crossed into Greece from Friday through Sunday, "exceeding arrivals during peak summer sailing days," IOM said in a statement on Tuesday.

IOM asks Romania Government to cut co-financing for Asylum Fund projects
The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Mission in Romania has transmitted the Romanian Prime minister an open letter asking for the curtailment of the co-financing rate within the projects with the Fund for Asylum, Migration and Integration, for the 2014-2020 programming period.

Nearly 1,800 irregular migrants repatriated in March
A total of 1,793 migrants detained in Greece without proper travel documents were returned to their homelands in March, the Greek Police reported on Tuesday.
Migrant repatriations up by 6 pct in 2014
The number of undocumented migrants who participated in a repatriation scheme run by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in cooperation with Greek authorities, rose by 6 percent in 2014 compared to the previous year, the Greek Police said on Thursday, releasing its annual figures.

Serbia under great pressure of irregular migration
BELGRADE - Serbia is under great pressure of irregular migrations of citizens from African and Asian countries, whose final destination are countries of the European Union, Aleksandar Nikolic, state secretary at the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, said at a three-day meeting of the International Organizations for Migration (IOM) Council.
