Greek shipowners face the prospect of not being paid for loads worth millions of euros or having them confiscated when they get involved with high-yield but high-risk trading in refined oil products with Venezuela. With the US sanctions to Caracas coming into force in April, it is likely that shippers' payment demands for deliveries made will be in vain.

EU parliament recognizes Guaido as Venezuelan interim president
The European Parliament recognized Venezuela's self-declared interim president Juan Guaido as the de-facto head of state on Thursday, a symbolic step that lawmakers said was designed to keep pressure on President Nicolas Maduro.
EU lawmakers voted in a non-binding resolution to recognize Guaido as interim leader and called on all EU governments to follow suit.

Greece must shift its focus to attract FDI
The economic sectors that Greece needs to focus on to attract foreign direct investments are aircraft construction, shipyards and engineering equipment production, according to a study by IHS Markit.
