The Bulgarian coastguard police has used force to evacuate the Libyan crew on the Libyan vessel Badr that is docked in a Bulgarian port, a joint statement by the National Company of Sea Transport and Ports Authority revealed Saturday, reports Libya Observer. 

Obama calls for efforts to counter ISIL in Libya

U.S. President Barack Obama directed his national security advisers on Jan. 28 to counter efforts by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to expand into Libya and other countries, the White House said.

ISIL militants have taken advantage of chaos in Libya to establish themselves in the city of Sirte, and they have carried out several attacks on oil installations this month. 

Turkey introduces visa requirement for Libyan citizens

Turkey has introduced visa requirements for Libyans, due to security concerns, the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Aug. 27. 

Turkey annulled a memorandum of agreement with Libya from 2009 waiving visas for nationals of both countries, with Libyan citizens having to apply for a visa to travel to Turkey as of Sept. 24, Tanju Bilgiç told reporters on Aug. 27.
