No change expected on Russia sanctions

An international operation against a large-scale scheme for financial crimes, money laundering and violations of international sanctions against Russia is taking place in Sofia at the moment. According to BNT, it is the company NEXO.

The new package of sanctions against Russia, prepared by the European Union, will not include the exemption, i.e. derogation for the Western Balkans, therefore also for Serbia, due to Belgrade's attitude towards official Moscow.

At the insistence of Croatia, led by the Prime Minister of that country, Andrej Plenkovi, the new package of sanctions will also include Serbia, because it will no longer be able to import Russian oil through Janaf.
