International Science Olympiad

At the first International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), held in Burgas from August 9 to 15, Bulgarian students achieved notable success. The competition saw participation from about 200 students across nearly 40 countries, each working on innovative AI projects for six days.

On the eve of the inaugural Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, Bulgarian students have achieved notable success, securing 58 medals across various Science Olympiads this year alone. This announcement was made by Minister of Education and Science, Galin Tsokov.

Bulgarian students have achieved remarkable success at the International Chemistry Olympiad held in Saudi Arabia, winning four medals. Viktor Lilov, a twelfth-grader from Sofia Mathematical High School "Paisiy Hilendarski," secured a gold medal and ranked second in the world, competing against the top 327 students from 84 countries.

Team Romania competing in the 16th edition of the International Geography Olympiad, which took place in Hong Kong, China, July 30 - August 5, has won four medals - one gold, two silver and one bronze, according to the Ministry of National Education (MEN).

Bulgaria's National Chemistry Team earned one gold and two silver medals at the 53rd International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad in Saint Petersburg, Russia. A total of 150 young people from 29 European, Asian and African countries participated at the International Chemistry Olympiad. 

The Romanian girls' mathematics team won one gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal at the 8th edition of the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), which takes place in Kiev, between 7 and 13 April, a release of the National Education Ministry (MEN) sent to AGERPRES on Friday informs.

Sofia. Bulgaria ranks fifth in the all-time medal tally of the International Olympiad in Informatics, the coach of the national informatics team, Emil Kelevedzhiev, said in an interview for Focus Radio. The Bulgarian team won one gold and three bronze medals at this year's International Olympiad in Informatics in Japan.

Romania has won five medals at the IPhO 2018 international physics Olympiad: a gold medal, two silver and two bronze medals.

Romania's mathematics team won six medals (four golden and two silver) in the 25th edition of the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad for seniors, carried out in Belgrade over may 7-12, informs the Ministry of Education in a press release.

Serbia's team of high school students has won four bronze medals at the International Olympiad in Informatics held in Tehran.

According to the Mathematical Society of Serbia, the medals were won by Filip Vesovic, Momcilo Topalovic, and Vladimir Milenkovic from Belgrade's Mathematical High School, and Dusan Zivanovic from the Svetozar Markovic Gymnasium in Nis.
