After nearly three years of travel disruptions and complications, many countries have abandoned most pandemic restrictions. People are traveling internationally and there is plenty of idle demand spread around the world.

After a weak of the first half of 2021, international tourism rebounded during the northern hemisphere summer season, boosting results in the third quarter of the year, especially in Europe, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) said yesterday.

The Incoming Romania Association (AIR) welcomes the government's decision to lift the COVID ban on the entry of foreigners to the country. "This is a beneficial measure for all of us and is, in fact, the signal for the resumption of international tourism in Romania.

Almost a third of the world's destinations are currently completely closed to international tourists because of the pandemic, the UN tourism body said.

The Greek economy's great dependence on tourism and the global slump in tourism flows this year was the main reason observers put the country's economic contraction estimates for 2020 at 9-10%, a new report by Ernst & Young Greece notes.

International tourism arrivals in Greece reached a new record of 19 million in the first nine months of last year according to the Bank of Greece?s border survey published on Friday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
