Pay Gap: Women in Bulgaria Paid 14 Percent Less than Men
"Women in Bulgaria receive salaries which are an average of 14% lower than the salaries of men. This places the country within the "golden mean" among the other countries members of the EU," Ivaylo Dinev from the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) said for the BNR.
Parents spend €1.2 bln a year on private lessons

Bulgaria: Nearly 380,000 Unemployed Registered in February-December 2020
The newly registered unemployed across Bulgaria were a little under 380,000 between February 3 and the end of December 2020, according to the latest data of the specialized weekly labour market survey of the National Statistical Institute and the Employment Agency occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic. Greek public sector workers to strike over pension bill on Feb. 18
The civil servants' union ADEDY has called a 24-hour strike for February 18 in protest at the conservative government's legislation on pensions which is to go before a vote in Parliament this month.
According to ADEDY, the bill perpetuates austerity measures introduced by governments during the crisis years, including auxiliary pension cuts of up to 50 percent.
