Ljubljana – Almost 90% of Slovenians aged 16-74 used the internet regularly in the first quarter of 2021, show data released by the Statistics Office on Thursday. When surfing the net, some 58% of them (912,340 users) encountered fake or dubious information on social media or news portals and 37% of them went on to check the facts.

 Bulgaria ranked 85th, according to a study assessing the digital quality of life worldwide. This year the survey covers 90% of the world's population and rtes110 countries, looking at five main pillars of digital life: accessibility and quality of the Internet, e-infrastructure, e-security and e-government, according to BGNES

Ljubljana – Slovenian mobile network users sent almost 574 million SMS messages in the second quarter of 2021, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, mobile broadband users downloaded more than 56 million gigabytes of data, which is 26% more than last year.

We Are Social, the world's largest and most awarded social media agency, has made its social media and internet report for 2021 public, which showed that Turkish topped "the common languages used for website content" list.

Starting from Thursday, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo are dropping all roaming charges.

This means that citizens of these countries can make phone calls and send messages across the Western Balkan region without restrictions, paying the same prices as if they are in their home country.

SpaceX's satellite internet network, Starlink, should have roughly 500,000 users within the next 12 months, said Elon Musk.

The data includes phone numbers, full names, location, email address, and biographical information

The "Agriculture" State Fund announced a tender for projects for the building up broadband Internet network in villages and small towns in Bulgaria. A separate budget worth of BGN 82 million  is allocated for financing of the projects. These are funds provided under the Rural Development Program and the aim of the projects is to achieve 100% coverage of the country with fast internet.

The intensive use of the internet for business, educational and social purposes during the pandemic period has created new felony opportunities for criminals, making seven out of every 100 people victims of at least one cybercrime, according to a report.
