Internet use increases by 50 percent in Turkey amid pandemic
Daily internet traffic in Turkey has surged by 50 percent during the coronavirus outbreak in the country as people heed stay-at-home orders, with many working from their houses and getting schooled online, the CEO of a major telecom company has said.

Operators to offer free internet on mobiles during Ramadan
Turkey's mobile telephone users will enjoy 1-gigabyte data of free internet during the holy month of Ramadan, the country's transport and infrastructure minister has announced.
The government has made the necessary arrangement for free internet access with the mobile phone operators, Adil Karaismailoğlu said.
Telecoms outperform Euro peers
Greece's telecommunication networks have responded well to the pandemic crisis so far. Despite the increase in traffic coming to at least 50 percent, as noted by British consultancy Tech4i2, the slowdown in internet speeds around the country has been the smallest compared to networks elsewhere in Europe.

Foreign national indicted over child pornography
The police cybercrime division in northern Greece unraveled a new child pornography case on Wednesday and indicted a foreign national.
Police had received a complaint that an unknown internet user sent a file containing pornographic images to a female minor via a social networking site and then managed to extract explicit photos from her.

Eurostat: Bulgaria on the Last Place in the EU in Terms of Internet Usage
In 2019, 87% of people aged 16-74 in the European Union (EU) reported they had used the internet during the previous three months. This share ranged from 98% in Sweden to 68% in Bulgaria, Eurostat data showed.
Internet use has grown rapidly over the years - in 2007 it stood at 57% and in 2013 at 75%.
