Highways to accept all e-pass devices

The Infrastructure Ministry is promising drivers that, as of this fall, they will be able to drive on all Greek highways using a single electronic device for tolls. By the end of the summer, all the main technical issues for the interoperability of all operating companies' systems are expected to have been resolved.

Bulgaria and Serbia Hold Bilateral Tactical Exercise "Lions Land - 2019"

The Lions Land 2019 bilateral tactical exercise began today, October 21, with the participation of military personnel from the Bulgarian and Serbian ground forces, the Ministry of Defense announced. It is being held at the Slivnitsa Training Center in the period 21 - 25 October 2019. 150 soldiers from the Brigade Command - Blagoevgrad take part in it from the Bulgarian side.

U.S. Joins 11 NATO Allies for Breeze 2019 Maritime Exercise in Bulgaria

The United States and 11 NATO allies began their participation in the nine-day Breeze 19, a maritime exercise hosted by Bulgaria that included three U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft.

The exercise began Friday and is scheduled to conclude on July 21 near Varna in the Black Sea, according to a Naval news release Monday.

Germany urges Turkey to rethink S-400 missile deal

The German government on Wednesday said Turkey's decision to buy Russian S-400 surface-to-air missile defense systems raised difficult questions for NATO and that it would welcome Ankara reconsidering the decision.
"The government is following this very carefully," government spokesman Steffen Seibert told a regular government news conference.
