The Interpol global police co-ordination agency warned on Wednesday that organised criminal networks could be targeting Covid-19 vaccines, and could look to sell fake shots.

During a specialized police operation conducted on June 4 by officers of the Search Sector, a 38-year-old man was found and detained in the capital. He has been declared wanted by a European arrest warrant, and a red bulletin has been issued by Interpol for his detention at the request of the authorities in Athens, Greece. 

With reports of fraud linked to the Covid-19 pandemic proliferating on a global scale, Greece has also had its share of incidents, Kathimerini understands.

Iranian rapper Amir Hussain Maghsoudloo was released by Istanbul police on condition of judicial control after being detained for violating visa terms last week.

The request was sent to Lebanon, where Carlos Ghosn fled, hiding from a court in Japan. Beirut's security services have said they have not yet provided the "red bulletin" to the judiciary.

Police in the southern Athens suburb of Neo Faliro on Thursday arrested two men who were later identified as Kurdish nationals wanted by Turkish authorities.
