The message to Washington: Be aware of it, the war ended with your defeat
On this day, August 31, 2021, US forces withdrew from Afghanistan, ending their 20-year presence in the country.
On that occasion, the Russian Embassy in the USA announced that the USA should understand that the war in Afghanistan ended with the defeat of America.
"A far bigger crisis is just beginning"
UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi reiterated his call for the borders to remain open and for more countries to share "humanitarian responsibility" with Iran and Pakistan for 500.000 Afghans, who are expected to flee Afghanistan by the end of the year.
Iran and Pakistan have already received about 2.2 million Afghans.

Turkish aid group distributes food to 100 families in Afghanistan
The Turkish Red Crescent on Aug. 28 distributed food packages to 100 families in the Afghan capital Kabul.
