Man’s body parts found in Ioannina park

Police said on Friday it had found parts of a man's body inside a garbage bag tossed in a park in Ioannina, a city in northwestern Greece. 

The bag contained the head, hands and legs of the unknown man, while a gun was held in one of his hands, state-run broadcaster ERT reported, citing police sources. 

It also said handcuffs were found near the bag. 

Boy with cerebral hemorrhage transferred to Athens hospital

A 14-year-old boy was transferred to a children's hospital in Athens after he lost consciousness while caroling in the town of Arta, northwestern Greece, on Sunday.

The boy was intubated at a local hospital before being taken to University Hospital of Ioannina where he was operated on for a cerebral hemorrhage, according to state-run broadcaster ERT. 

Supreme Court intervenes over bear killings

Supreme Court deputy prosecutor Anastasia Masoura is supervising investigations to identify those who killed a bear and her two cubs in Western Macedonia. 

Their bodies were found between Plagia and Eptachori, at the 106th kilometer of the Ioannina-Kozani highway. 

Unknown assailants first shot the mother and then the two cubs.

Mother bear with 2 cubs shot dead near Konitsa

A mother bear and her two cubs have been shot dead near Konitsa in Greece's Epirus region. The incident was reported to Arcturos, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the brown bear, on Sunday after the lifeless bodies were discovered alongside the road connecting the cities of Ioannina and Kozani.

Partially submerged ancient stoa discovered on Salamis
