Greece loses to Montenegro, 73-69, in final World Cup game
Greece, already eliminated from the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals, ended its campaign Sunday with a 73-69 loss to Montenegro.
With the loss, Greece (2-3) finished last in Group J, the Round of 16 group. Lithuania and the USA, who were to play later Sunday, have already made the quarterfinals.
Serbia beat Greece at Acropolis basketball tournament
ATHENS - The Serbia men's national basketball team defeated Greece 71-64 (16-13, 23-22, 18-14, 14-15) in the first round of the Acropolis tournament in Athens on Tuesday evening.
Bogdan Bogdanovic led Serbia with 15 points and seven rebounds, Nikola Milutinov had 14 points and 12 rebounds and Marko Guduric added 14 points and seven rebounds.

Greece's teams in the Euroleague brought down on Friday what they had constructed earlier in the week, as Panathinaikos had Fenerbahce put 100 past it and Olympiakos was upset at home to lowly Villeurbanne.

Reds end year with triumph at Khimki
Olympiakos put 105 past Khimki in Russia to end its three-game losing streak in the Euroleague, while Panathinaikos succumbed to host Red Star in Belgrade.
Facing bottom team Khimki meant Olympiakos had to win this road match on Tuesday, and it did so in style, with a 105-88 score, to score its eighth victory in 16 matches.

Damaging road losses for Greens and Reds
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos suffered damaging losses on the road in the Euroleague, in a poor start to another double week.
Panathinaikos went down 78-73 at Belgrade to host Red Star on Wednesday despite having led for most of the game by up to 13 points.

Greece thrashes Jordan ahead of World Cup in China
NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the Greek national team were in action on Saturday as part of the 2019 Suzhou International Basketball Challenge in China. Greece thrashed Jordan 92-65 in a game that took place ahead of the FIBA World Cup that kicks off in China next Saturday. Antetokounmpo scored 13 points, behind Giorgos Printezis with 17 points.
