Iran–Qatar relations

 As the world rushed to condemn the Russian invasion of its smaller neighbor, the wealthy Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have largely kept quiet. Middle East experts say their reticence is understandable given what's at play - energy, money and security.

Turkey on Jan. 5 welcomed the outcome of the 41st Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit held in Saudi Arabia, which saw reconciliation between Gulf states.

QATAR'S latest act of defiance is likely to cause anger as its damaging dispute with Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries continues.

Joint Turkish-Qatari naval exercises concluded outside the Qatari capital of Doha on Aug. 7, according to statements issued by Qatar's Defense Ministry.

The rapid-response exercises, which lasted for two days, were conducted entirely in Qatari territorial waters. 

Turkey asked Qatar, which has been under a  blockade by Arab countries since June, to join hands for sustainable food production, the Turkish economy minister said on Aug. 3.

Nihat Zeybekci, proposed that Turkey, instead of sending finished goods to Qatar, could send raw materials, which Qatar could process at its own plants.
